Hungary vs Portugal

Tips: Portugal to win, Under 4.5 goals

The defending champions will open their Euro 2020 with a game against Hungary who they faced in the group stages at the last Euros. That game ended in a 3-3 draw as Portugal progressed on to win the title. The Portuguese have won four of their last six games including an impressive four nil trashing of Israel. They have a multitude of talents to play in every department and have a strong defensive backline that has been solid.

Hungary finds themselves in a tough group and considered least likely to progress. The Hungarians have won four of their last six matches and also have home advantage in this match-up. But, they are missing star player Dominik Szoboszlai which has left them flat footed in terms of creativity and going forward. This was all too evident in their warm up matches with a sluggish nil-nil draw against Republic of Ireland last time out.

France vs Germany

Tips: France to win, Under 3.5 goals

The first of many big clashes at the Euro 2020 pits in form France against fluttering Germany. The French national team is unbeaten in their last 16 competitive fixtures. Asides that, France have gone on to win six of their last seven matches with clean sheets in each of their last four games. The French team have been dominant over their opponents in recent years claiming two victories and a draw in their last three encounters.

The Germans have an impressive array of stars but have consistently failed to gel as a team recently. They lost six nil to Spain last year and have lost three of their last competitive matches. They’ve won three of their last six games losing two. We expect France to edge this one out with a slim margin of victory.
